 Re: This brought back memories
Hey Fids, I can't believe that you didn't get one single reply from that! Both games were classics and to hear Eddie and Jiffy say over and over that Ponty stood up to them and then waded in was classic...How times have changed. And then there was the bar room brawl....Just wouldn't happen nowadays.....We're reduced to drunk and disorderly of a golf cart....We need some of that back.....Within the rules of course...I reckon we need a Big Nasty or two like the Chief...

 Re: This brought back memories
I didn't reply initially 'cos Fids and I have discussed it in detail in the past. I was somewhat involved in the press at the time, got the cuttings somewhere. Major protagonists in the brawl were Carbonneau and LaMaison. Ponty's included Mcintosh and Jinks ... LaMaison's nose was significantly bent in the process and there were cries of " 'ows yr nose LaMaison ? " on the return, the nose never retained its shape

 Re: This brought back memories
PS .. Much was feared about the return match as, I believe, Sardis Rd is one of the very few grounds with a communal bath.

For the Welsh mind is still haunted by it's lightning-flash vision of a people that was free.
